School Library

Welcome to the Alta Vista Library!

Our school library welcomes students, teachers, parents and community on a daily basis. The library is a place where our community of learners can discover, explore, collaborate and enjoy.
The library program and services will strive to instill in all our students a passion for reading and learning through engaging lessons and activities. The library lessons will promote critical thinking skills and further information literacy skills for the 21st century learner. The school library will ensure that all members of the school community have equitable access to information, resources and services.

Library Hours:
 7:45 to 4:15 P.M.

The library will be open for checkout before school (7:45-8:00 a.m.) and after school for checkout, AR testing, homework club and collaboration (3:15-4:15 p.m.). The library will also be open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11:00 to 12:30. Students will be able to come to the library during recess for check-out and AR testing. Students may visit the library before and after school and with a teacher’s permission during school hours. If I am unavailable I ask that patrons place the books with a slip identifying their name, student ID, and teacher. I will be certain to get the resources to the patron as soon as possible.
